First of all I have had my car initially financed from GMAC and they switched to ALLY. Until recently within the last 2 years I was rarely late on a payment and then I lost job after job and ran out of deferment on payments. Needless to say I began to fall late. I never went more than 3 months past due and last night when I became 3.5 months past due they came and repossessed my car. I NEVER received any kind of notification. In fact the last letter I received from them in the mail was from back in August 2012! I also just made a payment on 12/4/12 of $344.18 (which included my car payment and late fees). I started calling ALLY this morning at 7am when they started taking calls and was on hold for 47.05 minutes and talked to a representative Erma and she was beyond RUDE! She had no empathy at all for my situation and I could barely understand anything she said with her heavy Indian accent. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she replied "he is going to tell you the same thing!" I said that I still would like to speak to her supervisor. So she transferred me to Vince the "assistant supervisor" and he wasnโ€™t any help either, also with a heavy Indian accent!!! He wouldnโ€™t let me talk and kept interrupting me. He said that the tow place hasnโ€™t released the information yet and that he couldnโ€™t do anything until then. I then asked if he could call the tow place and he rudely declined because they hadnโ€™t received anything from them that stated that they had my car. So I insisted again and he said "Iโ€™m going to release the call now, I cannot help you" I pleaded with him to help me cause I FINALLY got a new job and it starts today. He said again โ€œI am releasing the call" CLICK! I was soooo mad!!! I called the tow place and the lady Courtney was super nice and couldnโ€™t understand why ALLY didnโ€™t have the information yet. So after I got off the phone with her I proceeded to call ALLY back and was on hold for 1 hour 12 minutes and 37 seconds and talked to Donna. She was actually kind of nice! She got all my information and then called the tow company to confirm the information WITHOUT ME EVEN ASKING!!! I got the payment made via money gram (that customer care rep was super nice). I then called ALLY back and was on hold for 1 hour 8 minutes and 1 second and a representative John answered and took my reference number of the payment and called the tow place to advise them that I was paid in full and could pick up my car. I called the tow place again and they advised me that they do not release repossessed cars on Fridays and Mondays (probably because they want to charge for storage fees over the weekend) I calmly asked him what is preventing him from giving me a car that is legally mine? He said that he was in the Topeka office and would make an exception and drive to Olathe to release my car for me. How thoughtful of him! WHATEVER!!! It is now 3:27pm and I am finally home with my car that is PAID IN FULL!!! I can also supply phone records of NO attempt to contact me.

Just in case anyone was wondering what I had left to pay:

Past due: 1053.72

Late fee: 26.46

Repo fee: 350.00

Total: $1430.18

Monetary Loss: $452.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Iโ€™m having the same issues with them. They wonโ€™t take my money either because my car got towed.

I have the money to pay off my towing fee and late fee and all.

It have to be a specific โ€œmoney gram expressโ€ that charges you more. Which is $8 or $9 and I did the money gram which is $1 but it both goes to the same people and through my account but they wonโ€™t take it.

Ally is threating to repossess a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan that is 32 days past due. The interesting part is the Grand Caravan has been totaled since January.

I owed Ally $16890 on a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with 94000 miles on it, its KBB was about $9900. My insurance company sent them a check for $11000 ($9900 KBB and an additional $1100 because the van was in prestine condition before the accident.) That left a balance of $5890 which was promptly paid by ZURICH GAP. That payoff figure was provided by Ally five times. The vehicle was paid in full and I happily purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey financed through Ally.

Fast forward to April, I got pre approved through my Credit Union for 6.99% interest on my Journey loan for a refinance. I did go through with the refinance not even a week after the Journey was paid off I started recieving collection calls on the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan stating I owed $550 in interest. They never mentioned a single word about this "interest" until I refinanced my new car. I very rude woman with a Indian Accent told me "Sir we will take your Grand Caravan." Ally you can become the proud owners of a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with no right side and a roof that got sheered.

Good luck finding it, my insurance company sold it at Auction all the way back in February.

I have no idea how they could take it anyway because they sent the title to Nationwide Insurance. AVOID ALLY!

what a bunch of *** i'm getting from ally bank!

last thurs. i tried to pay off my car as i have sold it; on ly to find out there is no actual banking building. So. i went to the deaslership where I bought the car nand ther best they could do was give me a phone number. I called and was told it wopuld be 10 day to 2 weeks. UNLESS I sent a moneygram; and it had to be before 4pm so the release would be posted at DMV the next day. I did as instructed, spent the money for the western union money gram and The next day went to DMV for the title. NO, ALLY Bank had not sent the lein release. so I wait thru the week-end and Monday call them again. This timwe I get a song and dance about the money not posted till Friday(yes I can prove they had it before 4pm Thurs) and it was sent to DMV and I should be able to get the title later in the day. $:55pm, still not posted.

Now I am pissed off, I call again, more bull, change in times, ect., but the guy GAURANTEES me it will be there before the days end.

Today is Wed. just got off the phone again with ally S0-CALLED-bANK AND MORE PROMISES AND NOW IT'S THE dmv'S FAULT. hOWEVER, HE DID LET IT SLIP THAT THE RELEASE was sent on TUESDAY at 3pm; not Friday as I was told. The guy bac ked out of the deal so I had to give the money back, thanks ALLY bank forf your NON-SERVICE>

IN MY OPINION, don't use a bank you can't walk into, I will never make that mistake again!

Ask it is tough to get the title released right away. You pay with certified funds and call them for a faster release..

You can ask for a supervisor to get your lien release right away. A next day release can be done i think but best you could get is a faxed lien release from them but you have to ask for a supervisor i think.
